Also check out some earlier teaching notes on a variety of Miller’s plays that were in our earlier newsletters, here.

It is our pleasure to announce that a new, additional Arthur Miller website, the Arthur Miller Online Teaching and Learning Center, has been launched. Recognizing the widespread teaching of Miller’s plays and the dedication of Miller scholars and teachers to their students, the Arthur Miller Online Teaching and Learning Center, conceived of by Ramón Espejo Romero, and developed by Álvaro Albarrán Gutiérrez, Carmen Gómez Galisteo, and Jane Dominik, will provide a focused platform for teachers and students alike to post and access course resources and materials, and to interact directly with one another about their postings and ideas. To view and participate in this project, please visit https://amotlc.com. For access to the website and to participate in all of its sections, free registration is required, under the “Access” tab: amotlc.com/access.

Death of a Salesman

Here are links to a Key Note Address by Professor Sue Abbotson from the 14th International Arthur Miller conference that was held in Roxbury on 19 Oct. 2024 on : Why Arthur Miller is the Best American Playwright, and Death of a Salesman his Best Play!  There is the text in the first box, with arrows that show when you should shift to the next slide in the Powerpoint. The Powerpoint itself is divided into four sections to be able to upload as it was so large: 1. Background on Miller’s career. 2. Willy Loman in the Twentieth Century. 3. Willy Loman in the 21st Century and various “ethnic experiments. 4. The importance of the staging of Death of a Salesman. Enjoy!
